Awesome movie.

This movie kicked @ss. I watched it during a nearly unbearable night of insomnia. Why does golem look like a frog?!

This movie does indeed own. I watched it a million times as a kid. XD

Dunno why Gollum looks like a frog, but I like him better that way. Looks better than the one on the live-action movie. %D

And no, I'm not being sarcastic. Weirdo-lizard Gollum was cool. :<

The film is far from amazing, but it's definitely fun to watch. I love the book(s) and love Peter Jackson's adaptations, but I have a lot of scorn for R&B's interpretation of the text. Whenever I'm doing homework or writing, I'll have this playing -- along with the other Tolkien animated works -- on a loop to listen to.

Aside from the fact that it's a muddled and unintelligent piece of interpretation, I'll agree to the other fact that this is quite enjoyable.

Yeah I loved this movie and the other two animated adaptations when I was a kid (and I still do!)

I totally just got done watching this and Hobbit again and I once again fell in love with them.

I think the design and animation techniques in the Rankin/Bass animated films as well as Thundercats and Silverhawks to be completely awesome and creative.

Also, I felt that the atmosphere of this version is MUCH darker than that of the live action one, simply because of its depcitions of Mordor and how the songs ratchet up the doomy atmosphere. (I still adore the live action ones but the animated ones will always be the way I see middle earth)

It really is a great animated movie, and I don't like the fact that people hate on it so much. It's really wonderful

It's terrible! It doesn't even bother to pick up where the other animated movie left off. I know they were made by different people, but seriously why not at least try to keep some continuity between the two?
