Rocker or Mod music?

how do both groups distinguish musically? in the movie the mods were listening to the who, the kinks etc., which for me is rock music. so what did the rockers listen to?

No, that music was Mod(ern) music.
The Rockers listened to Rock and Roll. Little Richard, Elvis and Buddy Holly etc....
