Do you think the scene a half hour into the film is weird where phil comes home and the investigator has broken in? It ends with him just standing there,looking what has become of his house. You think phil would at least confront him,asking him what he wants? Also,don't you think he would at least file a police report? Do you think this scene should have been longer,showing what phil does while the investigator is in his house?
shareConfront him? The guy was pointing a gun at him and yelling "Back off!" Phil didn't ask him what he wanted because he was afraid of being killed. He didn't know the man was an investigator. For all he knew, the man was a robber or just some psychopath with a gun.
As for the filing a police report, they don't tell us if Phil does or not, but like you, I assume he didn't.
Being a marijuana smoker, Phil probably wanted to avoid contact with police.

That's unreal and not plauseble, I mean,you come home and you notice something's amiss, you hear something, turn down the hall and a man with a gun comes at you and says get the *beep* away from me!...... you going to say what he said" I'm not moving, man"!.. NOW, why you do not call the cops and file a report, because the only thing missing IS PHIL ELLIOTTS BAG OF MARIJUANA!.. so, no cops no report, even though the guy who robbed his house is a cop working for the NFL
