My unforgettable scene

I read the book and watched the movie when each of them first came out. One scene that I remember to this day is when Nolte's knee is being examined and the doctor says something like this: "This is by far the worst knee I've ever seen!" Nick replies: "Doc, that is my good knee!" I'm sorry the exact quotes are not in the "quotes" section (which is the reason I looked this movie up on IMDb). Anybody know?

I'm pretty sure the scene you describe is not in the movie at all. It would most likely have been right before Phil got the shot before the Chicago game, but the exact dialog you describe did not take place. It must've been in the book. As far as I remember Eliot didn't have any other interaction with a bonafide doctor in the movie.

The dialog isn't there, but he IS talking to a "bonafide" doctor, just before the game, when he's getting the Xylocaine shot.

I'm not sure about the quotes from the book, but here is the scene with the doctor in the film.

I thought the OP may have mistaken the scene where the trainer is telling Elliot his knee "feels like it's full of gravel."

Right on the money! And Nokte says, it's always felt like that!

That's pretty funny, but nor of my favorite lines was when Durning addressed the team before the owner and manager did and said, " Shut up and put out you smokes". To a room full of athletes........I'm guessing it's been a real long time since that's been said, but it just seemed strange.....Like Nolte smoking in the weight room.....Very strange indeed
