Deserves DVD Release in the USA

Why hasn't "My Brilliant Career" been released on DVD in the USA yet? It's been OOP for years. There are currently DVD versions that came out in the last year or so in Australia (w/extras) and the UK (no extras). But Americans can only view those DVDs if they have a multiregion DVD player. The rights to the film I read were finally returned to Australia and the producer who made the film a few years back. I can't believe there isn't a film studio in the US who would want to give this film the DVD treatment. My hopes are that a company like the Criterion Collection will select My Brilliant Career for a high definition transfer DVD.

I heartily agree! I love this movie and I had a very hard time finding a copy online. My local video stores never heard of it. Someone needs to bring this gem back to life here in the US. I am constantly talking this movie up to people and I hope that it finds a way back onto my screen in DVD format soon.

In a film class I took a few years back, we studied this movie and it's relationship with women in film. It was interesting and was also a decent movie. It should be released here in the US on dvd.

It IS on dvd here in the US.
I bought a copy on Amazon.com about a month ago. It's a two-disc even.
Just gotta know where to look.

The Australian and US DVD both are Widescreen 1:78.1. According to IMDB the film was shot in 2:35.1.
Is IMDB Wrong or Are All DVDs Wrong?
