Not the film I thought it was - help please

I have this on DVD ordered through Amazon its a great film but its not the film I thought it was! I have been searching for a film I saw years ago either Australian or New Zealand based on a very headstrong girl at a private boarding school she has a really odd name like Laura tweedsbottom or tweedsmuir or similar its in the same vein as My Brilliant Career - same period and Laura overcomes all obstacles and emerges a brilliant young woman I thought it might be called The Secret of My Success but that turned out to be a US film from the 80's. Does anyone know the film I'm trying to find and the name please??
