That awful hair!

Sorry, that is so distracting when I look at Sybylla. I know she wasn't supposed to be conventionally beautiful but her hair looked like a rat's nest.
I first saw this in the theater when it was first released, and though I like the film, ugh! That hair!

Get me a bromide! And put some gin in it!

reply

Oh well my hair is like that in harsh weather

reply

I thought her hair was beautiful, her best feature.

reply

Yes they say that in the movie. I get compliments on my hair every day

reply

That rat's nest of hair embodies everything about Sybylla that either charms or repells the people around her. It's a hairstyle that would be a character on its own if it weren't very much an extension of Sybylla herself As far as hair goes, it is very bold and abrasive, but for certain it has a life and mind of its own and will not be tamed for anyone or anything. Sybylla without her unruly mane is like Batman without his batsuit

reply

Yeah, but there's a distinction between "untamed" and "rabid." It reminds me of a horrible perm I got in 1979 that made my hair look like coarse-grade steel wool.

reply

Forget the hair, what's with the discolorations on her mouth? I, too realize that she's not supposed to be any kind of great beauty, but the hair and whatever the lip thing was--very distracting.

reply

She had freckles and that was a freckle on her lip.

"If I don't suit chu, you kin cut mah thoat!"

reply

I nominate Sybylla's hair for best actress and her lip freckle for best supporting actress. They dominated every scene they were in.
