I'm certain Jaw's girlfriend had braces. Now they're gone?

How is this possible?

It's the Mandela Effect. That is when reality shifts and you're transported to a similar, but-not-exactly-the-same parallel reality, most likely because CERN's particle collider is actually a time machine. Look it up. It's a real thing.

She never had braces in this reality / timeline. This isn't an altered version of the film. It never existed in this reality.

Deal with it.

I remember her with braces too. Even remember them sparkling when she smiled. I always thought that's what attracted Jaws to her. Guess it was the cleavage.

braces are back -
in the scene when she drinks champagne, braces could be seen through the glass

I very clearly remember her having braces as well. I thought that was the whole joke, they both had a mouth full of metal. But upon rewatching it when it came on TV, no braces. I figured maybe it was edited somehow because it made her look too young (like a child) or something but then I watched both my DVD and VHS copies and still no braces. Very odd.

I don't believe in the Mandela Effect as I find the theory of two timelines merging together to be ridiculous (though I will admit that I could have sworn they were called the Berenstein Bears and not Berenstain) and I think it's just our minds filling in the gaps subconsciously. We were hardcore expecting her to have braces so that's just the way we remember it. Human beings all have the same way of thinking more or less, that's why we all remember things like this that never actually happened the exact same way.

Its always been "the", but people have always said / thought "a"... .becaues if you same them fast, they sound exactly the same.

The "th" sound at the end of "with" blurs into the "th" at the beginning of "the", leaving the "uh" sound in "the" sounding like the letter "a" and a separate syllable from the "with" that to the human ear is just the same "th" sound that starts the beginning of the word "the" ... if that makes any sense.

I am also certain she had braces. The scene doesn't work otherwise. I saw this in the theater in 1979 and she had braces. But in my 1992 VHS copy no braces.
