Heres a bunch of pics from "Meteor"

http://www.jimusnr.com/meteorphotogallery.htmlInteresting pics. I would never have watched Meteor again for the quality of the picture. It's only because Natalie Wood has been my favorite actress for years.
Yes! Natalie Wood was a great lady by all accounts. I loved her in "The Memory Of Eva Ryker." Not one of her best known roles, but still one I love.
shareI was ten when this came out and it was the bomb! In between New Hope and Empire, what was a kid to do? It was either this or that "God Awful" Dizzy flick "Black Hole". Thirty-three years later I think that this film is going to hold up much better than the comic book driven CGI junk Hollywood is putting out now. This was a political, we need to come together eat peanuts and drink "Billy Beer" flick. Before the Russians invaded Afgahanstan and gave UBL, OBL, or whatever he called himself a voice. Taking down the towers and creating the wonderful world we live in today. So give the film some slack because and trust me on this, 20 years from now two studios aren't going to be racing to get their versions of "Gnomeo" out 1st.
Now to the reason I came here: just after the Godzilla asteroid takes out Tokyo, around 1 hour and 14 minutes in, they show the twin towers and one looks like it was still under construction. It has a crane on top and what looks like maybe two or four floors under construction (the area under construction is about the same size as the rooster-tail on the crane). Odd since I remember seeing King Kong carrying Jessica Lane up the completed tower because they reminded him of some rocks back home like 3 years before. Don't Blame the player!
I thought the towers were finished in the late 60's or early 70's, anybody know for sure? Sort of lazy for a big budget film to use such obviouslt flawed B-roll.
Funny. I'm flipping around, this movie is on tonight, and I noticed the same thing. A shot of the sun in between the towers and the tower on the right has a crane on top, as if it's still under construction. That would have been 1973 or so. Then a few minutes later when the splinter hits NYC and explodes the Twin Towers (yes, they showed it) the crane is no longer in the shot. So they simply used old stock footage for the first shot.
I was eight when this movie came out and I remember thinking it was awesome. I'm pretty sure I even had a Meteor poster in my bedroom for awhile. This movie has not aged very well.
