The part in the movie after Dracula left that girl Cindy's apartment to get back to his coffin he didn't turn into a bat, the sun was starting to rise and he walked back to his apartment but i thought if he turned into a bat he would have gotten there quicker?
If you understand cities like LA or NY, it can be kinda obvious.
If he flies, then he is not surrounded by buildings. And the additional height means that the sun will hit him sooner.
If he walks at street level, he has longer to get to where he is going. And if he is not fast enough, odds are he is still being protected by the buildings. In a lot of areas of New York, the street only gets direct sunlight for a few hours a day. The rest of the day, it is in constant shadow of the buildings around it.
Not to mention the effect of his cape billowing out behind him looked pretty cool---sometimes, decisions in films are based upon things as simple as that.
So that they could have very dramatic music with him walking as fast as he could to beat the sun? Also, since he did flip the sun off, he was probably trying to walk the lust off, since he didn't have time to be with Cindy.
Maybe he felt he didn't want to attract too much attention to any early risers if he flew back as a bat. Don't forget all the trouble that occurred when he turned into a bat earlier in the film to begin with.
