She seems to be going over the top all the time and personally I find it hilarious.

I recognized the quote too since I am also a huge fan of "The Competition". I even named my youngest daughter Remick.
In the last scene where the family is leaving to go back to the states, Sally shrieks when she sees the "filthy French boy" across the street. I recognized myself and said, "she reminds me of me." My husband and daughter agreed.
I'm hysterical a lot, but it isn't near to as funny as when Sally Kellerman is hysterical.
Anyway, my Remick watched "A Little Romance" tonight and said it was really good.
