I agree completely. I wish that rather than this being an adaption of THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE they'd done THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW instead. Also I wish that rather than having THE SILVER CHAIR as one of the live-action made-for-British-TV they'd instead done THE HORSE AND HIS BOY, because that's set during the time when the Pevensie children still ruled Narnia as adult kings and queens, before returning to our world. I mean none of the original four are in THE SILVER CHAIR, which somehow bothered me a bit.
But anyway. It would have been great if the cartoon movie had been an adaption of THE MAGICIAN'S NEPHEW, and then the four live-action made-for-TV films had been of the four books with the Pevensie kids, then we could have seen the first five stories in the series. As it is I've now seen exactly three different versions of THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, including the recent (and, in my opionion, very, very cool and well-made) Disney film. It would've been nicer to have just seen one film version of that book prior to the Disney movie than have already seen it two different times.
