the ultimate version of narnia?

ok ifrst off the new film is totally fabulous, and completely captures the brilliance of narnia, though i felt Tilda Swinton who plays the witch could have been a little more aggressive to truley terrorify people, but this cartoon is absolutley amazing!

The voice casting is amazing; I live in england so the USA version might have differetn voices, but i thought it was top notch! Simply brilliant.

I was actually terrified watching as a 5 year old with the music going as the wolves almost caught up with the beavers and the children as they tried to escape, and it still gives me shivers now as an 18year old!

It is the best of all the dramatised versions right? You gotta say yes!

I like both versions. You have to admit that the animated version has a certain charm.

The Disney version is exhausting but good, the animated version is innocent by comparison and fun to watch.

reply

I agree. Both versions are great - the Disney version is epic and impressive, and the animated one is classic and colourful.

There's clearly no argument here! The animated version beats the rest hands down! But I thought the TV series was better that the Disney version, especially the white witch, she looked totally washed out in the new movie, would suit a role as Galadriel better. She was way more fierce and sharp in the TV series, but that's nothing compared with the cartoon white witch, she's pure evil and well scary!!

My favourite adaptation was actually the BBC's version in the late 1980s. Was much more true to the book and nothing was ommitted. Was a lot scarier to watch though.

But I do like the animated version more than the Disney version

I love this version. I, personally, feel it captures the very essence of what the author was trying to convey. The brave were brave, the wicked were wicked and Aslan was indeed, regal. My favorite book, my favorite film.

i like the witch in this version best. she is scary. Tilda Swinton did a good job but Barbara Kellerman was hamming it in every scene

whose *beep* jizz is it!!!??

I think the UK version is the best followed by that BBC series. I didn't like the new one that much. Wasn't very true to the book IMO and the CGI was annoying (though I *DO* indeed hate CGI).

I think the BBC version was better than this, mainly because it was more faithful, and a lot of stuff was omitted from the book in this version - they just made Edmund a villain from the outset for no reason, you find out why Edmund changed from a likeable boy into a vile brat in the BBC version, for instance. Also this version does not explain why the children were in the Professor's house, why Lucy went into the Wardrobe in the first place, why Edmund followed her etc., and the non-showing of Father Christmas in the animated version, where instead Aslan gave them the gifts, was a big plot hole in terms of the curse breaking.

And I didn't like the change of name of the wolf character. In the book he was "Maugrim", in this version he was "Fenris Ulf" - no idea why though, perhaps the change was for legal reasons?

Still, for a cheap cartoon aimed at a younger audience, this was not bad at all
