Romance from the man's perspective

Can anyone recommend other romantic comedy/dramas from the man's perspective rather than the woman's? A few that come to mind instantly are "(500) Days of Summer," "Chasing Amy" and "Brokeback Mountain." In fact, I'm not seen a lot of the women's perspective in that last film at all!

It seems very rare to have a romantic story told from the man's perspective, and it's unfortunate that romances are often dismissed as "chick flicks."

true but you know I think they even it out. Even in Bridgette Jones Diary we know how both males feel, and their perspective on things. Even if it takes a while to get to it, as we get their history, in that story that history revealed was part an important part of the story.

How about Music and Lyrics?
or Fever Pitch?

reply

Yes, "Music and Lyrics" is one. I haven't seen "Fever Pitch" yet; almost bought that for a buck yesterday. An excellent one, though not entirely a romance: "High Fidelity."

"About A Boy" I think tells the romantic story from the male perspective, very well.

yep, another good one.

It should come as no surprise that "About a Boy" and "High Fidelity" were both written by Nick Hornby, a great writer who knows and tells a lot about guys.
