Connery's comment


Man I hate to admit this, but there were several folks watching this movie on TV last night. Some idiot asked a question JUST as Connery made his comment in court that brought down the roof with laughter. Someone please tell me what he said! Thanks.

I believe it was, "I wanted the money." as only Sean could say it.

Actually the scene is better described in the book. The Judge has used some time to question connery about the moral issues, the victorian society apparently was schocked by the mere thought that people was criminals for other reasons than need. The common belief was that only poor people stole things and they did it to survive, the thought that someone made a robbery "for the fun of it" was very schoking. Therefore the question : "Why did you concieve this robbery" and the simple answer :"I wanted the money"...
