Boo Netflix

Netflix has a lot of random movies. I think i have found just about every wierd movie there i have ever looked for. Sadly, they do not have The Fish that Saved Pittsburg.

I was really hoping to watch it. I somehow had never heard of it, even though I am a huge movie and basketball fan. Hmmm, someone must have it.

my thoughts exactly.
such horror.
i hate it...absolutely.

reply

The movie was horrible... the only reason to see it is if you are a Doc severensin fan, as he has a fairly cool song in the movie... otherwise your should probably thank Netflix.

reply

Hmmm, i guess i'm not really a Doc Severenson(SP?)fan. Though i don't dislike him. So being a HUGE basketball/nba fan isn't enough to like this one? I thought seeing Dr j in an acting role, yet alone a lead role, woudl be amusing enough.

or just loving good music?
or b 70's movies?
come on, now...

I loved this movie and fell in love with basketball because of it. I still get a thrill watching Meadowlark Lemon, Kareem, and Dr. J in this movie. I found it on Amazon....VHS of course. Some Blockbusters have it.

reply

It looks like the reason Netflix doesn't have it is that there's never been a DVD release of it.

reply

hmmm, that's a bummer. I'll keep my eye out for one of those cool indy video rental stores (used to live near one, not now). That's probably my best chance.

reply

good luck finding it - i cannot find it anywhere

It's been about 4 years, but if you're still interested:

Watch it free with either of these 2 links. Putlocker quality is pretty low but still watchable:

This link is a semi-higher quality player but for some reason you can't skip ahead or rewind a scene:

I gotta older cousin who wanted me to find this movie, and I was able to get it through torrents. If you're interested, I'm still seeding it. Just get a bit torrent client, and click the one that says "download this torrent." It didn't take long to download either.

Though they could have it streaming as they carry quite a few movies that are available instantly that aren't on DVD(The Video Dead, Blood Games, etc)

Yeah I agree. It really is a shame we can't find the quality older movies anywhere to buy or rent. Maybe that could be a new business.

My Sig: Nothing here.

Ugh, three and half years later and they still don't have it. That's why I came here. Does this even exist on DVD?

reply

Alright, I started this thread four years ago!

i just saw on this board they released the DVD. Which means you can rent TFTSP!
Try here--get a 48 hour rental for 3 bucks--perhaps free if you have Prime, idk:

I loved that movie as a kid, quirky but it worked! They had some serious basketball legends in it.
