Did anyone else think it was bizarre that Marsha Mason actually received an Oscar nomination for her performance in a film where she is basically playing herself?
shareI'd say she was overplaying herself, but she probably knows herself better than I do.
shareIt doesn't matter if she was playing herself or not, she was terrific in the role, especially with her monologue in the house towards the end.

She wasn't nominated for Audrey Rose.

Her non-nominated performance in Audrey Rose is identical to the ones she garnered 4 Oscar nods for. At least Audrey Rose is more diverting than Chapter Two.
