Yet another movie where the fucking music is WAY too loud

I'm so fucking tired of older movies like this where you have to ride the goddamn volume button the entire time because the music is WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD compared to the dialogue. It's fucking maddening and I have no more patience for it.

I am 100% with you on that pal.

Soundtracks are way over used today.

Sometimes they can be cover for just piss poor silly dialogue.

Really wish they had a option to turn them off or down.

This was a great film. If you think the music is too loud I've got good news. You see that button on your remote called volume? Push it to adjust it. No need to thank me!

reply

Did you not read the part where I wrote "You have to ride the goddamn volume button the entire time"??

reply

Does that not only lower the sound of the music but also the dialogue? Or, will the dialogue be louder if we do this?

reply

You can feed the audio into a sound mixer and separate it out. No need to thank me.

reply

Too loud for you, at least. Sounds just fine to me.

reply

Our televisions could be made so that one could push a button to average the sound, but they don't. So you could blame them as well.

reply

I've thought that in the past. Some films can get really loud at times but what really annoys me is the adverts where the volume usually jumps up.

reply

TVs and DVD/Blu-ray players have a setting called “Dynamic Range Compression”, "DRC", “Dynamic Range Control” or “Normalization" which does exactly what you want.

reply

My surround sound receiver does this as well.

reply

Yeah, those too. It must be a well hidden setting because I have seen people complaining about the same thing here several times.

reply

Good information!

reply

Since the loud music was primarily during riding sequences when there was little or no dialogue, it worked perfectly to enhance the excitement of the scenes.
