Breaking Away in HD

Fox must really hate this movie. It's not available in HD in any form. Not any digital HDTV channel. Not Blu-ray. Not Vudu or any other video on demand. You would think they would be proud of a film that won an Oscar, but apparently not. I know it wasn't shot on the best film stock and the picture quality isn't top notch, but with HDTVs becoming almost omnipresent in the US in an incredibly short period of time, something with higher resolution than the DVD would seem to be in order.

The stream from Amazon says it is "HD", but that is probably not a full 1080P experience.

Just watched on Netflix in HD. Looks great!

I don't really see HD as being that pertinent to the viewing experience here.

Twilight Time is releasing it January 20. I saw this way back in '79 as a teen and loved it. Since then only a couple of times on TV, and it held up well.

Likely limited to 3000 copies, so I'm gonna snag mine early.
