Although I know this film got many positive reviews I still think it is highly underated. It's so wonderfully emotional and filled with pure uninterupted feeling. I really don't think I've ever seen a film with such a strong and real atmosphere and such detail. And yet it is not widley considered one of the classics of cinmea? Why????? Is this movie great or am I just crazy?

I think the reason is because it was thrown off as being just a kid's film, and also was rated G.

I think the most underrated part is the cinematography. I can't believe they didn't even give it an Oscar nomination for that brilliant work. While for those big budget films, like Seabiscuit, Oscar became much more generous. What a shame!
shareAll one can hope for now is some remastered DVD edition for the 30th Anniversary coming up in '09. Here's hoping!!!
