Can you give me some advice?

Opinions are split on that issue. If you compare it directly to the original, yeah-it sucks and doesnt really correspond with a lot of the events of the original (the water was flooding every deck-now theres very little water-the hull looks toally different, what exactly does keep exploding? etc.)If you take it on its own merits, its generally ok, but can be laughable in some ways. I recommend watching it (preferably the widescreen version or the longer-yet pan and scan version)but keep an open mind. Hope that helped?

I think it is "fun" crappy, if only to see the waste of what is an extraordinary cast (how many Academy Award winners?!?) and ridiculous plot twists.

Just don't take it too seriously, Shirley Jones has what must be one of the best lines in the film (or any film ever) I forget it exactly but it includes the words homicidal manic and she delivers it with style.... :)
