AQotWF and Gallipoli endings

I see a similarity between the endings of this movie and Gallipoli. Paul loved to draw, didn't he? And Archie from Gallipoli loved to run, right? Well, *spoiler for the endings* they were both doing what they loved when they were shot at the end. Another similarity, both movies were about WW1 (I state the obvious, don't I?). That's just what I saw. Does anybody agree with me?

Gallipoli is too anti-British, All Quiet on The Western Front is critical of the war but isn't anti-German. AQOTWF is the better film.
