katz fate?

i was wondering how katz died, it appeared that he was hit on the leg, but when he had been carried to the tent, he was dead. the soldierboy puts his hand behind his head, and there it is blood.

village fiesta,

we play cards, on the green and muddy ground,
workers cut logs,
don't be affraid it will hit you from behind as it fall,
party sunny outdoors, or shadow indoors,

the answer is on the tip of the tounge, i know,
i walk out as a winner or a loser, i really don't care,
it's happening over here, on this village fiesta.

Well in the book (and I'm pretty sure in the movie as well), he was hit on the leg at first but while Paul (soldier boy) was carrying him to the tent, a piece of shrapnel him in the head. So Katz died by the piece of shrapnel, not the leg wound.

okey, thanks for that. yes, that first part defenitely happens in the movie. maybe that other hit was shown in the movie too and i didn't notice it. but unless i missed it, i don't think you ever find that out in the movie.
