what is a hara kiri knife?


i know it was in slim pickens pocket
..i looked it up and hara kiri means something about ritual suicide so was it like a knife to kill yourself for the japaenese if they were caught?
anyone have a pic of one?

Hara kiri(or hari kiri) is also known as seppuku, but Hollis Wood wss making a joke. He was probably just carrying a jackknife or a penknife.
He was making a suggestion, as in "One gen-you-wine hara-kiri knife, pass it around, maybe you'll get the idea".....

"Yup, bigtime"

The joke is that he states it's a "gen-you-ine American harry karry knife"

Not only does he mis-pronounce 'hara kiri', but hara kiri is in fact a Japanese ritual. Clearly not genuine American, then.

That is the joke.

Yeah, most likely Hollis was using his limited knowledge to make a joke. :P
