the Christmas special and Audrey leaving

I enjoyed the Christmas special very much but on thing i never got was why did Audrey leave the manor when she left Richard. The manor was theoretically hers she bought it back in the last episode of the series and the whole point in the series was to get her manor back and would never leave. So why did she leave and not kick him out.

Audrey often made a big showy fuss in order to be dramatically wooed back by Richard.

I have missed the Christmas special
Unfortunately I watched the show only sporadically
Is the Christmas special available on DVD?
