Did anyone else think...
...that the wave motion gun sounded like a horse whinnying when it was fired? I always found that sound effect highly weird, but memorable.

Did you also notice the animation flaws in the first epidode that they use it (floating continent) so it looks like it fires out of the ship's side? Or how about the logical flaw of firing it under a sea of sulphuric acid?
