the enemies

A couple questions on the villains in the show.

First: Does anyone remember a couple of guys chasing the ship for like the 1st half of the season. Who were they? I think one guys name was Baine. Why were they chasing them? Recall their ship was destroyed, but the scene to how it happened is still unclear. I do recall "Baine, Baine" being shouted by the leader.

Now the next villain took place in the 2nd half of the season. Can't recall his name, but he always wore black. Who was this guy?

Col. Ganz and his assistant Bane were Gamilons in charge of the Pluto base. They were portrayed somewhat as goofballs, even in the Japanese version.

I didn't find their demise to be unclear at all. After the Pluto base was destroyed, Gans, Bane, and the rest of the Pluto fleet attack the Yamato/Argo in an asteroid field (the remains of Planet 10/Minerva). The Star Force used the asteroids to protect them. Frustrated that their attacks weren't getting through, Gans ordered the fleet to "step up the attack" (in the Japanese version, a kamikaze attack). Col. Ganz almost succeeded in destroying the Star Force, nearly colliding with the Argo's superstructure, but Wildstar was able to reflect the ship with the rocket anchor, which sent Gans' ship careening into an asteroid.

Really, my explanation is probably more unclear that the actual episode. :)

The guy in black in the 2nd season is Prince Zordar of the Comet Empire, probably. He had green skin, white hair, and really funky eyebrows.

The villian in the second half of the Iscandar season was Lysis. He was a hardass who was pretty loyal to Desslok. He had a psychotic edge to him as he was willing to sacrifice an entire Gamilon base to crush the Argo with an artificial sun. Apparently he survived the first season because he was seen briefly in the second season.

Lysis actually died in a suicide attack during the Rainbow Galaxy battle, but the scene was altered in Star Blazers so he could survive. However, he does not appear in season 2. The scene in question features a general introducing himself as "Maizer," which has similar vowel sounds and is, in fact, being delivered by the same voice actor that played Lysis, so it's incredibly easy to make that mistake. The man speaking the line, however, is clearly not Lysis; it's a very different-looking officer.

-There is no such word as "alot."
