Does anyone know which epsiode contains....

Hi,

Could anyone tell me which episode tells of Steel sending the ship the Mary Celeste out of time and returning it without the crew?

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

thanks for that info hunnybunny, if that is the only and closest reference to the Mary Cleste (if any) i wonder what wikipedia is refering to, they quote this

"The 1970s British Sci-Fi Serial Sapphire and Steel suggested that Steel had been forced to send the original ship and crew out of time (and presumably to their deaths), because an accident, caused by the crew, would have caused the end of time. He left behind a replica of the ship, but forgot to replicate the bodies."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Celeste

maybe they have been mistaken?

I wish i could watch those episodes again, i was too young to recall any dialogue, the 1 thing that i so vividly remember about S&S was the music.

Thanks ounce again for replying to my question. =).

I think that was something to do with the episode where all the clocks stop in the house but it was only steel mentioning the mary celeste and didn't have to much to do with the actual story. it was either episode 1 or 2 cant remember which

Mary Celeste is a famous "Ghostship". Nobody has so far been able to solve her mystery.

Crying department is upstairs, Lady.

this is an old thread, but anyway...

It was indeed in Assignment 1.
A previous assignment "on a ship" is mentioned a couple of times in the first three episodes (the young boy is fascinated by it) and in the 4th episode, Lead says, "What was the name of that ship? The Blue something? The Mary something? The Blue Mary?" and the boy says, "The Mary Celeste!"
"That's the one!"
It's actually incidental to the storyline. It just gives them some 'history' (Assignment 1 wasn't really their first assignment) and also adds to the supernatural (ghosts) and historical (the meaning of nursery rhymes) elements of the Assignment.

In the first story, Steel tells the boy that he sank the Mary Celeste, to which the boy replies that he couldn't have done, as the Mary Celeste didn't sink, and Steel replies "I sank the real one, yes".

I'm just watching it. When Lead arrives to help in S01E03, he and Steel get to reminising and they mention the Marie Celeste.
