If anyone is still around... Did PJ Hammond or indeed any fans write a follow up to the end of the series? If there is any fanfiction out there, would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction please?
Also has anyone else been thinking about recasting again? I would still go with Rebecca Romijn (Mystique - XMen) as Sapphire and have now thought of Rupert Penry-Jones (Spooks) as Steel.
Well, if you're interested there are professionally produced Sapphire and Steel audio plays from Big Finish productions. Give them a google and you should find them.
They've recast the leads (due to McCallum being unavailable, and Lumley uninterested) but have retained David Collings as Silver. Steel is now played by David Warner (The Omen, Titanic, Time Bandits, Tron, legendary RSC Hamlet etc.) and Sapphire is Sussanah Harker (House of Cards, the Colin Firth Pride and Prejudice). There's coming up to fifteen plays released now.
Thanks for the reply Mole! Not sure that I would want to listen, but read, especially if someone wrote Sapphire & Steel out of the last episode.
