best assignment?

Assignment 1 is a great start to the series and they found a good child actor to play the boy. He is very convincing.

For me Assignment 2 the best. I could see that being remade as a film even. The corridor, which turns into a submarine, is a great testimony to what can be achieved without using special effects and relying instead on tight direction and acting.

Assignment 3 doesn't work as well despite the decent writing. The effects are the worst of all the assignments. A time machine derived from animals is not so much a bad idea but as with other assignments, this enemy should not have been given corporeal form especially not as a silvery grey hand puppet.

Assingment 4 is great but the acting and direction not as good as one & 2
5 is underrated it seems. It's well put together, quite tidy plot wise, but perhaps lacks a definite enemy or force which S&S have to overcome, so overall suspense and the conclusion is less satisfying.

The final assignment is again brilliant and to this day, I still want to know what happens next. I feel a bit like S&S waiting in space.

I seem to remember that the boy who played the lead in Assignment 1 was in real life the son of Milo O'Shea who played Friar Lawrence in the 1968 film version of Romeo and Juliet (still my favourite version). With Milo for a father I am not surprised he was also a good actor.

Agree about assignment 5. Very underrated but I think most people agree that assignment 2 was the best.

I'm very much in the minority in that I don't think Assignment 2 is all that great but I love Assignment 5

Assingment 2, followed VERY closely by 6, then 4, 1, 5, 3

Assignment 6, as well - it was almost perfect.

Assignment 4 (The Man Without a Face) - I liked the idea of Sapphire and Steel being rescued by a human woman and I felt freaked out for her not being able to have any photos of her til the end of her life.

3, the Creature´s Revenge, was the weakest imo - mainly because the guest actors were so terrible and the twist in the end was really silly.
