Are there any chances of this series ever being released on
Blu-ray?
It was made in SD video, so there would be no point.

No they haven't. A lot of old stuff was done on film - of course that has more resolution than SD video, so those programmes can be successfully brought out on HD formats. S&S and most old British stuff was on SD video.
You have to understand the difference between video and film.
There have been BluRay releases using upscaled VHS or SVHS Masters. It seems pointless but given the better bit-rates and less lossy compression they can have an advantage over DVD.
