With Leo McKern being an Australian born actor, and Rumpole always being popular in Australia you would expect to see a DVD set here - but it appears there is nothing. Here's hoping a DVD set will come to Australia soon!
I was thinking the same thing last night while listening to a book reading on on Tony Delroy's Late Night programme on the ABC. They were referring to "text messages" so it had me wondering whether they were bringing the Rumpole series into the 21st Century LOL. Only on the radio episodes so it appears on thre wikipedia site.
So I checked and found that only Series One was released (EAN/UPC 9316797435927) was issued some years ago by MRA Entertainment (now Destra Entertainment) and is now "out-of-print".
The best bet would be to purchase from Amazon UKs web-site as it seams they have re-issued all the series in the last year (but neither the "pilot" nor the "Rumpole Returns" specials).
Let me know if you succeed elsewhere.
ciao ciao
et tu brute!
Locked my wire coat-hanger in the car - good thing that I always carry spare keys my pocket :)
The first 3 seasons at least are now available for Region 4, and I have also seen another set on sale (although subtitles may be the only difference between the two sets).
I hope so too. But then I'm still hoping somebody will some day release the remaining seasons of "Man About the House" and "Gilligan's Island" to Region 4. (The former is especially annoying given that "George and Mildred" have long been in release and they've now started releasing "Robin's Nest"!)
