I need some help....

Hey everyone,

I'm doing my honours thesis on pride and prejudice film adaptations and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find the 1938, 1952, 1958 and 1967 versions of this movie on dvd or vhs? I wanted to buy them, but I can't seem to find them anywhere. If anyone had any thoughts I would appreciate it. Thanks.

ps I'm posting this on a couple of pride and prejudice message boards so more people will see it. so if you see it again, just ignore. thanks!!

If you live in the UK, you can view clips from the 1967 version online at the British Film Institute. You have to be affiliated with an eductional institution in Britain, though. If you aren't, perhaps you can get a professor to help you gain access? Try all your contacts; you must know someone somewhere who has a connection and can help you with this. Good luck!

Additionally, here is a link to a post at The Republic of Pemberley that talks about a documentary that has clips from some of the old P&P versions.

Here is another link to that site. Scroll down to find links to photos from the 1967 P&P:

Hi,

Wow, that's great. I'll try those out. I'm not from the UK, I'm Canadian, but I will check into those suggestions though. Thanks!

Good luck with your thesis.

I see that the photo link isn't working. Try this one:

You'll have to click on the pulldown list and select: "Photos that defy categorization."

Try E-bay and Netflix for purchasing titles not readily available from the traditional sources. Good Luck!
