Where can I find this?
I saw this mini-series about ten years ago, but I haven't seen it since. I'd like to watch it again, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I could rent it? Or can I watch it online?

shareI think you'd probably have a difficult job in finding this to rent. I had no success and had to buy a copy and hack my DVD player to play Region 1 DVDs (not that I'm obsessive or anything, ).
I don't know where you are in the world, but if you do have to buy it, Amazon.com has it for region 1 and it's recently been released for region 2 in the Netherlands. You can get it on www.proxis.com. Don't worry if you don't speak Dutch, the site can be translated into English.
The people have appointed me. I am their leader. I must follow them.share
I hacked my player too, so you are not alone!
shareI'm in Canada and I bought this from a local HMV video store. I don't know if this chain is present in the US or Europe. The other option is, if you go to your nearest chain video store, ask if they have it in their database-if they do, you might be able to special-order it.
shareWe have HMV in Europe, but can't get hold of DVDs from outside region 2 via them, worst luck!
I lost my jobshare
What? Why?... Not the Phantom Menace?

shareRent at Netflix and Blockbuster .com
shareYou can watch it online or on DVD via Netflix. I just did last week. :o)
shareSo can you only buy this version online? I live in Australia but my brother lives in London and I thought if it was available he might be able to buy it for me and send it over, but this may be unlikely?
"No, I like you, just as you are."
I have this version of "Pride and Prejudice" on studio released VHS tape. I
acquired it some years ago and I don't know whether it is still "in print."
I hope that it will be released to DVD soon.
This has been on DVD for several years now in region 1 (US and Canada). The VHS release is shorter than the original broadcast; the DVD has that footage (about 25 minutes' worth) put back.
If you are outside of region 1, you could conceivably buy it from a US or Canadian company and either play it on your computer using VLC or on your DVD player if it is hackable.
We bought this from amazon as part of a 6 movie set. It contains a BBC version of all 6 of JA's books. I just checked, it is $32.99 US. I think Elizabeth Garvey does an excellent job as Elizabeth Bennet; not to distract from Jennifer Ehle's equally excellent job.
my god its full of stars
Nearly a year late in posting this here, but hey! That info might be useful for someone if it was not posted already. P&P 1980 along with several BBC period era classics is available from http://www.netflix.com/. I actually just finished watching the 5 episodes of P&P 1980 directly online in Netflix (where it’s available both to watch online instantly or via ordering the DVD sets through the Netflix regular monthly subscription).
The quality online is not as much as what the DVD would be, I suppose. And it does require a fast enough broadband connection. But it has the advantage of being available for viewing right away (so no waiting for DVDs to be mailed) and at the subscriber’s leisure.
Netflix is available for the US market (not sure about its availability outside USA).
Netflix is not available outside of the US. First of all, the DVDs that they rent out are only playable on region 1 players (US and Canada). Second, the licensing agreements for the online viewing are, I believe, only valid for US customers. Meaning that non-US ISPs aren't allowed to watch. I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. I also believe that Canada has its own equivalent of Netflix. I know that, for UK residents, they can rent from "Lovefilm.com" -- Amazon used to rent out films themselves, but obviously they've stopped. And I just checked -- http://www.lovefilm.com/product/95893-Pride-and-Prejudice.html Lovefilm.com does have P&P80 in its collection for sale or rent.
shareA region 2 DVD is availbale in Germany or in the Netherlands with English audio track.
Here is a link to amazon.de page : http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B000IZIZCW/ref=s9_sdps_c5_s1_p74_i1?pf _rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=11G6W0B2HZYE4S3N 6HNE&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=463375193&pf_rd_i=301128
I'm in Alberta, Canada and I've got an extra copy of this particular adaptation in case anyone is interested in acquiring a copy.
If anyone just wants to watch it online- if you type in Pride and Prejudice 1980 into google video, there is an Asian version of youtube that has it. It has subtitles but it's easily ignored
[Stephen] Fry doesn't have beer goggles. He has Madeira Pince-nez
You can buy a this on region 2 via Amazon Germany. At the start menu change the language to English. As it is a British production it is the original dialogue, not dubbed.
