Rich and Hartless

This episode was a bit of a dissapointment! It always seemes odd to me how Max was the one that gave Johnathon his start yet Max ended up the servant and Johnathon a millionaire!!! This episode just proved that the only reason Max was still with the Harts was because he worked for them! Sure they had some dialogue to show they missed him, that he was family etc... but in the end he moved out, not because he wanted to but because there just wasn't a place for him anymore! Kind of sad really!

Talk low, talk slow, and don't talk too much.

You obviously did not watch this show very well...i know this s an OLD thread--but HtH is back on in this area on TWO separate networks and it is ABOUT TIME !!

Anyway...The Harts LOVED Max. And this was widely shown in the series. A number of times...some sort of trouble befell Max and they went to NO END to protect him. It is quite obvious Max is treated well by the Harts. He really had no reason to leave--all he needs is there in that beautiful home.

That episode was totally set up to get him OUT of the Hart house--so the crooks could pull off their robbery. I havent't see that one in many years--(yet--but it WILL be on soon..) But it seems that he was coerced into leaving--made to believe he is now wealthy and should go on his own. And you saw how FAST he cam running back to them too...realizing he missed his "home"..

I just bought the season 4 dvd set and have to say the first few episodes were meh. this one, as predictable as it was, was decent.

I didn't think it was bad:

It wasn't the strongest episode ever, but it had some very important moments, and I definitely disagree that the net here is that Max is only there as their servant. His purpose is much deeper than that, and this episode does a pretty good job of exemplifying that depth.
