just read War Dog by AJ Venter...suffice to say, im now fascinated by the Rhodesian Bush War, South African Border War, Executive Outcomes, etc..... but i really liked reading about Bob Mackenzie...

so American vietnam vets were in some demand in rhodesia at the time?
but yeah, his life should be a film...no idea who could play him though...

There are several good books about Rhodesian military units out there: the SAS, the Selous Scouts and Rhodesian Light Infantry.

Yes, Americans were in demand in Africa. After Rhodesia became Zimbabe, many of the Americans went and served in South Africa.
