My ideas for a remake

Ok, its 4 pm here in Norway, so take that in consideration when reading this, but i have some ideas for the remake.

Setting:
Yes, there are many places in the world we can set this movie to, but i think to make it logical according to the plot it has to be an evil country like Venezuela or Cuba.

Plot:

An unmanned droneplane crashes into the venezuealan jungle, carrying with it valuable information about mine and ressources. A privat company who owned the drone pays a merc group of 20-30 people to retrive the data.
The mission at first is sucessfull but at the last moment, the company makes a deal with the venezuelan goverment, who deploys their army and cuts the merc getaway, who have to escape to the colombian border.
But thats not all.
The company hires some french mercenary to retrive the data from the merc,since they dont have to pay the merc, and leave the data to the venezuelian.
The merc are now chased by a french elite squad and the venezuelan army.

Taking place in
CAST:

Here it gets interesting, if we are gonna follow the basic of the first movie, there should be no woman in the squad.

I think Clive Owen will be perfect as a british born leader who has the main role.

In Roger Moores place i belive both Christian Bale or Ethan Hawke will be good sidekick to this.
The black soldier from Doomsday i think would been good as Jaffers.

The lead mainguy for the company should be played by either by Christoffer Plummer or Max von Sydow, while the french mercs leader by Vincent Cassel, maybe a third villian played by Cliff Curtis.

So no female lead, well, there were none in the original, but im sure we can put charlize theron or Bridget Moyhanan as a love interest/wife at the beging, or put Michelle Rodriguez as the merc medic.

Who directing?

I dont know, Michael Mann has some good action movies, but i dont think it fits into this setting.
The praised director Nolan?, maybe, he is good making films that take place in an urban enviroment, but i am not sure about in the jungle.
Tim Burton:
Not unless you want the merc to stumble upon a neo-gothic circus in the middle of the jungle with Johnny Depp as the sircus director.

So i am out, no idea.
