Witty and Ilya Kuraykin together on the Titanic!

One of the great things I love about British films are the horde of terrific actors. One can go from the Bond films to Hammer films to tv series and back to even earlier films and find some familiar faces. This is evident in "A Night To Remember", the definitive Titanic film from 1958. From Kenneth Moore's heroic turn as Lightoller to seeing Desmond "Q" Llewellyn" and other great actors, Any Wild Geese or Man From Uncle fans will recognize Kenneth Griffith and David McCallum as the wireless operators who frantically try to call for help up until the end. They do not make films like these anymore sadly. Unfortunately movies today are all formulaic, MTV style packaged atrocities. Thankfully I have my massive DVD library and do not have to set foot in a cinema these days.

If you want a real turn, check out Kenenth Griffith in the final episode of the Prisoner, "Fallout" (or his other role in "The Girl Who was Death")or his wonderful cameo in Four Weddings and a Funeral
