RSM Sandy Young

Quite possibly the finest soldier ever to serve.

"You are not jumping from a whorehouse window" is classic.

We deal in lead, Friend.

"On your feet, you *beep* abor-SHUN!"

Edit: Spelling it phonetically, of course... I'm not retarded. Why can't IMDb just replace letters with stars rather that insert the gay *bleep* thing?

When he stated at the beginning when addressing the mercanaries that 'I will kill any man stone dead, it will not bother me in the slightest' was good, BUT he should have put a bullet in that soldier who was exhausted in training instead of firing into the ground.

He's great. Up there with Richard Attenborough in "Guns at Batasi", Nigel Greene in "Zulu" and Sam Elliott in "We Were Soldiers"

(sorry for including an American Sergeant Major in this list, but, he was good...)

reply

^^ Sam Elliott's character wouldn't have been out of place in Wild Geese.

Well if it's based in Rhodesia; there were a lot of American (AND Aussie & Kiwi) Vietnam retreads who served there....

He plays the same role in every movie I've seen him in - Tobruk and Devil's Brigade are the 2 off the top of my head now. Tho in this one, sans mustache
