Sorry, two occasions. Yours as detailed and mine:
Coetzee dies. His body is hastily laid straight and his beret is put to cover his face. Faulkner and the rest of the men present stand to attention. Faulkner quickly and ever so slightly bows his head to his fallen comrade.
Classic.
Hairs on the back of my neck standing up as I write this, lump in the throat, upper lip not quite so stiff, chin beginning to wobble. Must rush and do something overtly masculine.
You are also allowed to weep like a bereaved child throughout the entirety of the Wild Geese 2 - weep bitter tears of disappointment
Do you have a licence for this minkey
My bottom lip wibbles a bit when Whittey is hacked to death, even to this day.
"Walker, you resilient bastard!"

I am happy to announce that I have not suffered the indignity of watching this "non-sequel". Had I, then I fear my size 9 boot would probably have gone through the TV screen.

It gets me every time when Sandy dies. I was watching the film te other night and just before Sandy is hit he is firing to his left with his pistol across his chest as he runs behind falkner. This firing pose had me thinking as I had seen this somewhere before by a character about to die. About an hour later it came to me, it was the second delta sniper in Black Hawk Down firing his pistol in the downed helicopter.
Watching the credits roll on The Wild Geese with the cast snips and the song playing really got me the other night. Only Roger Moore is left from the main leads of that great cast. Really makes me sad. All those great war films I grew up on and the stars are all gone.

Personally, from the first time i saw this film on its release in 1978, i have found the acting in Rafer's shooting so over the top it is hard not to laugh. "Shoot me! Shoot me!" "no! No!" "For Emil! Emil!" The look on R. Burton's face as he read those lines is hilarious. Hard to getaway with this on th e screen today...unless it were the Expendables.
shareI'm choking up just thinking about them all!
shareThere are lots of things like this that make me cry. The last episode of Blackadder goes fourth, Good Byeee, does.
