He couldn't fly. He could jump very high and very far. He could run as fast as a locomotive. He was strong enough to lift and throw a car. Nothing but a bursting shell could penetrate his skin. He fought unfair labor practices and wife & child abusers. More like Luke Cage than he is now.

They accused the creator of Captain Marvel of copying Superman's powers into his character. Sadly for the creator of Captain Marvel the lawsuit cost him too much money and he had to quit producing Captain Marvel stories. Some people are such jerks.
