This movie from over 40 years ago has nothing to do with the Avengers. Superman is not even Marvel

Both Avengers and Superman are superhero films it has everything to do with Superman The Movie was the First Theatrically released Superhero blockbuster this was a game-changer

doesnt count it was taken as seriously Superman The Movie made more an impact also it was released after the Year The Star Wars and Jaws the very first blockbusters this was the Third

The 1966 Batman theatrical movie with Adam West was not a "blockbuster". It was done on a television budget, and did not initiate a series of huge-budget theatrical superhero movies like the 1978 Superman movie with Christopher Reeve did.

Honestly this was a very great film. Yes it is dated in the technical aspects but it hold up exactly where it counts which is characters, music and story. That is what makes this stand the test of time and have so much influence. It is amazing how this was the first superhero blockbuster and boy did they do their homework with this film. It had a great talented cast of veterans and newcomers that just oozed charisma. Christopher Reeve is still the best Superman to date and honestly I do not see him being topped he was absolutely outstanding in the role.
