Don't miss this one

Dustin Hoffman plays a bad dude better than any other actor I know. He's tough as nails but yet honest with himself. Show some respect and get respect and don't crap on yourself and you'll do just fine. But some of his friends don't follow his ways.

Nice statement about the 'motto' of Hoffman's character. I caught this fantastic film on TV this morning. There were a few people here on IMDb that have Straight Time as one of their favorite films. I finally watched it and it's a great character study. Dustin was superb. The supporting cast was excellent as well (Theresa Russell, Harry Dean Stanton, M. Emmett Walsh, Gary Busey). The ending was very memorable. Hopefully, I will get to see The Friends of Eddie Coyle and Charley Varrick in the future.

'Charley Varrick' is a great film, also worth a look from the early 70s crime films is 'Born to win', a George segal movie.
'The outfit' is also a good movie, your list was impressive :)
