Stanton was my favorite too in the film!

"GOTTA GO WHEN I YELL GO, MAN! WHEN I SAY GO, GO!"

It's like pullin *beep* teeth ta getcha outta the place!

"What we did get, $20's? $30's?"

"...heh, there's no $30's, man."

"haha, any $1's? What is it 20, 30 thousand? Let me feel it! Let me smell it!"

Harry Dean Stanton is a flawless actor.

Roger Ebert has the Walsh/Stanton rule (no kidding) whereby any film that has either M. Emmet Walsh or Harry Dean Stanton in it can't be all bad. This one has them both and is one of the most underrated (completely non-rated) films ever.

i heard that before as well although he made an exception for a terrible film with Walsh in it. I forget which one it was though.

I have to thank Ebert for this one. I wouldn't have even know it existed until he mentioned it as one of his favorites. I'm also a big fan of Grosbard (True Confessions). Roger also turned me on to Wonderboys and Monster's Ball two others I would have not seen if it had not been for him.

Yeah, this is a movie with two amazing actors. In the first half you got Walsh, and in the second you have Dean Stanton. They were just not in the movie long enough! Especially Walsh, who was devilishly hilarious as the sleazy PO.

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

I agree, and I think Walsh was fabulous in this.

R.I.P. Harry ~
