Crime (Spoiler Alert)

Does anyone else get extremely nervous and tense during movies, as if they are actually happening? What is wrong with me? I just saw "Gravity" and I was so nervous I could hardly stand it. From the very moment they were floating around in space, I had an intense fear of heights, fear of floating away forever, it lasted throughout the whole movie. I could barely keep my sanity, but I think to myself, no other movie would get me going like that.....
OK, so now I'm watching "Straight Time" on Netflix, and yes, it's a great movie by the way, but during the robberys, especially the jewelry store, my God, I was sweating, my heart was pounding, my blood pressure was elevated, I was almost screaming at Dustin Hoffman to get the hell out of there!! It is one day since I saw the movie, and I'm still shook up from that robbery scene.
The thing is, I know the movie is a movie, but I don't understand why I get caught up in the anxiety of what's going on so bad My wife thinks I'm nuts. I hope there are others that are like me. I have seen other movies years ago, where I got some anxiety ("Reservoir Dogs", "Good, Bad, Ugly" final scene to name a few), but this anxiety I get now if extremely upsetting. One thing I do know, when Will Ferrell was 'sweating' from watching "Cops", I can now relate to him.

In that case, don't watch another Dustin Hoffman movie called "Straw Dogs". My heart was racing after the final climactic home invasion scenes!

OP - if you really want to give yourself a heart attack then watch William Friedkin's career ruining film "Sorcerer" (1977).

Only during the really good ones! Your reaction is applause for the filmmakers.
