Is this film any good?

I haven't seen it yet but I've been thinking about it. Many say its Hoffman's best performance which is really saying something since his got a lot of brilliant performances under his belt. I can't find it in the video store but there is this place that I can buy it. So for me to watch it I'm gonna have to watch the movie blind sighted. Thats why I wanna know if the film in genreal is any good.

In my opinion it's Dustin Hoffman's finest performance and that's saying a lot. Tarantino was such a bug fan of this film he cast Eddie Bunker in Reservoir Dogs who was in Straight Time and wrote the book. He even stole a line from the movie. It's amazing how this movie seemed to have sliped through the cracks and it is hard to find it at the local video store. But I would definitly recommend the movie. This movie is similiar to the Gambler in the way that they were both great films with great performances By James Caan and Dustin Hoffman but neither have gotten the credit they deserved.

I love this movie, it's an unsung masterpiece of the 70s. Worth a blind buy.

Absolutely, I was a bit scared to see this one at first because most of the people who like it belong to the mongoloid category but it's a swell little film.

One of the first worthy blind buys I've made.

The flick is very fine, and Dustin's indeed wonderful in it - and usually I'm not particularly happy to see him on screen.

i almost always have a problem getting hooked on movies where the main roles are crooks, but this was a bit enjoyable. the most memorable scene was when he cuffed his supervisor naked on the highway.

next i come back with regret,
but you wouldn't have it,
through with me i know,
as you walked out the door.
