Wow. Ridiculous. Stupid. A total clusterF.

I cannot believe what I just watched. This is so awful on so many levels. Let me count the ways:
1. This is the film that FFM quit Charlie's Angels to make. She was at her peak of beauty and fame. She was literally the face of her era and was an icon. I figured they would play down her image, but she just didn't look very special or iconic. Her acting also left much to be desired.
2. Was this a love story? FFM just didn't come across as someone you'd immediately fall in love with, and she was frankly annoying AF.
3. I can watch Jeff Bridges in anything. I'm not a beard person, but I was okay with his beard. He's sexy as hell. But... they played his sexiness down, and the script gave him nothing to work with.
4. Was this a thriller? A love story? A drama? A mystery? I read a lengthy review on IMDb that this was a COMEDY. A screwball comedy harkening back to the 30s! Um, I wish I would have known beforehand, but there was nothing funny. I sort of got the idea when the ending Macy's killer scene was going and the music was about the last type of music for such a scene. I also think if this was actually supposed to be a screwball comedy that the leads would have added something, anything, to their performances to let us know and we'd get the wink wink nudge nudge. If they wanted screwball comedy, JB merely came across as a poor man's Ryan O'Neal who excelled at this kind of thing. FFM was either lifeless or annoying, nothing funny there. Someone like Dyan Cannon would have been better, even Barbra Streisand would have found a way to energize this film.
5. I wonder if a second or third director came in to finish this pound of crap. There was NO consistency. It was all over the map. It justifiably was a bomb. No laughs, no thrills, no suspense, just NOTHING.
6. I am proud of myself for getting through it, so I understand really how critics called it Somebody Killed Her Career wrt to FFM. This was so awful.
