Art Imitates Life

A few years before this movie was made (about 1975) a person dressed as Santa robbed a downtown Evansville, Indiana bank. They have never been caught and there has never been a suspect in the case. The Police have said that it was probably a woman, but they don't really know. The robber simply ran out of the bank with the money and disappeared into the crowd of Christmas shoppers.

As for this movie...I love it. I remember seeing a still of the murder in a magazine when the movie came out. But I never saw the movie, til I saw the movie on HBO and wow it was great.

I also love the slogans on the t-shirt of the big busted teller... very funny stuff. And Gould shows that he can actually act when he wants to. Plummer is just amazingly EVIl.

you kidding? gould was a major reason to watch movies throughout the 70's ("mash," "little murders," "the long goodbye," "harry and walter go to new york," "a bridge too far").
this film still holds its own anything other from this genre, even today.
