best/worst cover?

It's already been established that AERO did the best cover, so forget that one. Let's narrow it down to beegee/frampton covers. What songs did you hate/love the most?

Best? 100%: I want you/She's so heavy. Cornerstone of the movie.
Worst? A Day In The Life

And as for George Burns doing "Fixing A Hole"? Unforgivable. I don't give a crap how well "Oh God" did. What an abomination.

Frankie doing "Mean Mr. Mustard" was beautiful. Nowadays I hate the synthesizer voices in the song(robots singing), but back then it was still new, fresh and fun.

But really (and I'll probably start a war on here with the other three people who post on this board), Billy Preston's "Get Back" and Earth Wind & Fire's "Got To Get You Into My Life" were both really good and better than Aerosmith's "Come Together" (which i challenge its status as "the best cover").

And i disagree about George Burns' "Fixing a Hole". Not great, but certainly not an unforgivable abomination!

That being said, I liked Robin Gibbs' rendition of "Oh Darlin'" even though I know many people really hate it.

Worst: The ending chorus of Sgt Pepper which is only slightly worse than the opening BeeGees version of the song.

Call me crazy but I liked every tune except maybe "Strawberry Fields" which I thought was too sentimental (while all the other tunes were plain fun and/or campy). Also I'm not really a fan of the Aerosmith version of "Come Together" because its serious tone seemed out of place in an otherwise campy movie. But maybe that was the point of them being the F.V.B.

I agree that Billy Preston's "Get Back" was fantastic, and I thought "Billy Preston ex machina" saving the day with laser beams of love was ridiculously awesome. Haha, all movies should end that way. By the way, Billy played electric piano on the original Beatles version, and I'm guessing he plays it again on this version.

But if we're talking favorites, mine has to be "Nowhere Man". Simple. Silky smooth. Nuff said.

I love Aerosmith and their cover is phenomenal, but I agree that Earth, Wind and Fire did the best cover. Robin's "Oh Darlin'" is pretty amazing as well. I liked Sandy Farina's "Here Comes The Sun" as well.

"I Want You (She's So Heavy)" drags on for almost 10 sludge-filled minutes on screen. Plus the Bee Gees' chipmunk voices simply cannot deliver the rough edge the lyric demands.
