This is one thing I've never completely understood; why are movers taking the furniture out of the house? I understand a lot of the group are going to Chicago but does that include Madame Nell? She didn't appear to be packing to leave so why move all of her furniture out? Doesn't it belong to her?

I think her place had been shut down but they should have made that scene more clear.

I assumed that the government was seizing all the property (including the house) because the owner probably never paid taxes on any money she made. Not sure if that's right or not lol.
